Self-Compassion Workshop #6: Emotional Self-compassion 2
Self-love
By Vanessa Tassé
The self-compassion workshops aim to provide an opportunity to practice self-compassion in community. They are inspired by the principles and exercises of the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program developed by Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer. They focus on various themes, including: overview of self-compassion; tender and fierce self-compassion; physical, mental, emotional, relational and spiritual self-compassion. The facilitators completed their training with the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion (CMSC).
Description
It is often easier to have compassion for others than for ourselves. This quotation gives us an important reminder: “Be careful how you are talking to yourself because you are listening” (Lisa M. Hayes). This second workshop on self-compassion and emotions will explore ways to treat ourselves with loving kindness, as we would treat a good friend.
Format
Virtual. Please familiarize yourself with the platform used before the workshop.
The workshops contain experiential exercises (e.g.: meditations, written exercises), and opportunities for group discussions. They are designed for self-development and self-growth.
Principles and Guidelines
In order to cultivate a safe atmosphere for all, we encourage participants to honour the following guidelines:
